Migrations of the White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) in Ukraine in 2025. - V.N. Grishchenko. - Berkut. 34 (2). 2025. - I continue to study migrations of the White Stork in Ukraine using citizen science (Facebook and other online sources). For 2025, I collected information on arrivals at 435 points in all regions of the country, 98 dates of the start and the end of autumn migration, and observations of 265 flocks during migrations and summer movements. Some storks wintered within Ukraine. As in the previous year, the first birds began to be seen very early – in late February and early March. Regular arrival began on March 4. The migration passed in three waves. The first of them was barely noticeable with a peak on March (1.6% of registrations). The next two ones were well-pronounced with maxima on March 16 (8.3%) and March 22 (13.1%). After that, the frequency of observations of the appearance of the first birds began to decrease rapidly and in the first decade of April it came to nothing. The total duration of the spring arrival period of the White Stork in Ukraine in 2025 was 38 days. Migration lasted until the middle of the first decade of May. The average date of arrival of the White Stork for Ukraine as a whole is March 20 (19.9 ± 0.3; Me = 21.03; SD = 5.6). As in the previous year, it is one of the earliest in the entire observation period. The average size of the spring migration flock was 19.7 ± 2.2 ind., median – 9.0 ind. (n = 156). From the end of April, nomadic flocks of storks without pronounced migratory behaviour began to appear. They were encountered until the end of July. The average size of summer nomadic flocks was 37.4 ± 6.5 ind., median – 20.0 (n = 41). The departure of storks began in various regions on July 29 – August 1. Already in the first days of August, migration became massive. The average date of the beginning of the autumn migration of the White Stork in Ukraine in 2025 was August 11 (10.8 ± 1.1, Me = 10.08, SD = 7.6, n = 49). The passage was intensive throughout August. The last storks in 2025 were observed from the middle of this month to the middle of October. The average date of the last departure was September 2 (1.8 ± 2.0, Me = 28.08, SD = 14.2, n = 49). The total duration of the autumn migration of the White Stork in Ukraine in 2025 according to the average dates of its beginning and end was 23 days (11.08–2.09), according to the medians – 19 days (10.08–28.08). The average size of autumn migration flocks was 50.1 ± 7.8 ind., median – 28.5 (n = 68). [Ukrainian].

Продовжується вивчення міграцій білого лелеки в Україні за допомогою залучення широкого кола аматорів через соціальні мережі та активного пошуку інформації в інтернеті. Загалом для 2025 р. зібрана інформація про приліт у 435 пунктах у всіх регіонах країни, 98 фенодат початку та закінчення осінньої міграції, спостереження 265 зграй під час міграцій і літніх кочівель. Описані випадки зимівлі лелек у межах України. Як і в попередньому році, перших птахів почали зустрічати дуже рано – ще в останніх числах лютого й на початку березня. Регулярний приліт почався з 4.03. Міграція проходила трьома хвилями. Перша з них була мало помітною з піком 9.03 (1,6% реєстрацій). Дві наступні добре виражені з максимумами 16.03 (8,3%) і 22.03 (13,1%). Після цього частота спостережень появи перших птахів стала швидко зменшуватися і в першій декаді квітня зійшла нанівець. Загальна тривалість періоду весняного прильоту білого лелеки в Україні у 2025 р. становила 38 днів. Міграція тривала до середини першої декади травня. Середня дата прильоту білого лелеки для України загалом 20.03 (19,9 ± 0,3; Me = 21.03; SD = 5,6). Як і в попередньому році, вона одна з найбільш ранніх за весь період спостережень. Середній розмір весняної пролітної зграї становив 19,7 ± 2,2 ос., медіана – 9,0 ос. (n = 156). З кінця квітня почали траплятися кочові зграї лелек без вираженої міграційної поведінки. Зустрічали їх до кінця липня. Середній розмір літніх кочових зграй 37,4 ± 6,5 ос., медіана – 20,0 (n = 41). Відліт лелек почався в різних областях 29.07 – 1.08. Вже в перших числах серпня міграція стала масовою. Середня дата початку осінньої міграції білого лелеки в Україні у 2025 р. – 11.08 (10,8 ± 1,1, Me = 10.08, SD = 7,6, n = 49). Проліт ішов інтенсивно протягом усього серпня. Останніх білих лелек у 2025 р. спостерігали, починаючи з середини цього місяця до середини жовтня. Середня дата останнього спостереження білого лелеки у 2025 р. – 2.09 (1,8 ± 2,0, Me = 28.08, SD = 14,2, n = 49). Загальна тривалість осінньої міграції білого лелеки в Україні у 2025 р. за середніми датами її початку й закінчення – 23 дні (11.08–2.09), за медіанами – 19 днів (10.08–28.08). Середній розмір осінніх пролітних зграй 50,1 ± 7,8 ос., медіана – 28,5 (n = 68).
