To distribution and biology of Dunnock (Prunella modularis) and Siskin (Spinus spinus) in the forest part of Sumy region (NE Ukraine). - N.P. Knysh, V.M. Malyshok. - Berkut. 31 (1-2). 2022. - We present the new data about breeding records of these species in the northern part of Sumy region. Two nests of the Dunnock with 6 and 4 eggs were found in flood-plain alder forests on the rivers Ivotka and Shostka in 2020. The southern border of breeding range of the species can be drawn here along the river Shostka. Nesting localities of the Siskin were discovered near the villages of Dibrivka and Sobycheve in pine and mixed forests in 2012 and 2021. Single pairs and flocks of Siskins were registered repeatedly during the breeding period also in the southern part of Sumy region. [Ukrainian].

Наведено дані про два нові випадки гніздування лісової тинівки в заплавних вільшняках річок Івотка і Шостка на півночі Сумської області у 2020 р. Яйця відкладалися з початку 2 декади травня, у кладках було 6 і 4 яєць. Поселення чижів виявлені у 2012 і 2021 рр. поблизу сіл Дібрівка й Собичеве в соснових і мішаних лісах з домішкою ялини. Гніздування розпочинається у другій декаді квітня. Поодинокі пари і зграйки чижів неодноразово реєструвалися в період гніздування також на півдні Сумської області.
