Short-toed Eagle breeds in the Crimea only in mountains. During migration, it occurred also in plain part of the peninsula. A young female was recorded during the count of geese in the East Crimea near the cape of Chauda (45.04 N, 35.55 E) on 14.01.2013. Later, in February and March, already two young birds (male and female) were observed in this area. In winter, they remained in open steppe resting on poles of power lines. Weather conditions in this season were mild. [Russian].
