Avifaunistic rarities of the Sumy Polesye. 1. Passeriformes. - V.P. Belik, V.M. Moskalenko. - Berkut. 2. 1993. - P. 4-11.
The list of all passerine species found in the north of the Sumy Region in 1962-1992 is given. Staying character and relative numbers are indicated. For 25 rare and new species the enlarged annotations with the data about the numbers, biotopic allocation and reproduction are given. Total 91 species were registered. 80 from them nest reliable or probably. It is noted the tendention to the number increasing and settling to the south of the mesophil northern species (Nutckracker, Greenish, Redwing, Bullfinch, etc.). The number of the southern and pine forest species unseldom decreases (Ortolan Bunting, Woodlark, Mistle Thrush, etc.). This is connected probably with the climate moistening and mesophilization of vegetation which was showed particularly sharp in the pine forests of Polesye in 1980-s. The numbers decreasing of some other bird species (Magpie, Hooded Crow, Fieldfare) is caused by the predation of the Goshawk very reproduced oneself in the Sumy Polesye. [Russian].
